Delices de Cartier reminds me of cherry pop. When I received a sample of this perfume, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the strongest scent of the fragrance was fresh cherry. This is only the second perfume that I've ever tried that smelled like cherries. The other one was a body spray from Bath and Body Works. The Delices de Cartier is much richer, and in addition to the cherry scent, it has other scents that compliment it. This perfume is very fruity and flower without being too sweet or over bearing.

I was curious to see what other fragrances the Delices de Cartier, so I searched it on Sephora.com to see if they listed the scents. Sure enough, I found that Delices de Cartier has essences of iced cherry, jasmine, pink pepper, freesia, amber, tonka bean, (tonka bean?), bergamot, musk and sandalwood. I love how the fruitiness and sweetness combine with the woodsy hints of sandalwood and musk. The main scents that jump out at me are the cherry, of course, freesia and sandalwood.

I was trying to conserve my sample of Delices de Cartier because I liked it so much, so I was using very wisely and sparingly. I was hoping that the small amounts that I was using would make my sample last for a while. I wore this perfume when I went to a wedding shower. My aunt told me that she loved how it smelled. She was surprised when I told her that I was wearing a perfume by Cartier. She remembers Cartier perfume as smelling very woodsy and rich and not sweet and fruity like the Delices de Cartier smelled.

I reminded her that this was a more contemporary Cartier and maybe geared toward a more youthful customer base. Even though this fragrance is fruity and sweet, I feel that it is appropriate for all age groups, even very mature wearers. Delices de Cartier perfume in my opinion is acceptable to wear during the day or at night. For as light and sweet as it is, it does have staying power. It doesn't fade or change how it smells after I've had it on for a while. This unique perfume stays true to it's original scent all day and I feel it compliments my individual body chemistry.

I would definitely purchase Delices de Cartier perfume when I finish with the sample. In my opinion, I think it is a very versatile perfume that can be worn for any occasion and by any age group. Cartier has been around for years and years and to me, remains very popular with fragrance consumers both young and mature.

Did you know you could make homemade solid perfume in fragrances of your choice? Many people don't realize how easy it truly is to create their very own special homemade fragrances. If you have a difficult time finding perfume you like, or if you just want to have fun experimenting with fragrances, give the following homemade perfume recipe a try. You can even add sparkles that will add a touch of glitz and glamour to your skin, and you can experiment by combining various scents to create unique signature fragrances. Share your homemade perfume with others and you might even end up with special requests for the unique scents you create in your home.

Perfume in a Jar

Before beginning, you'll need small containers in which to store your homemade perfume. Small plastic containers with lids can be found in the storage section of most discount stores, and as long as they are heat-resistant, they are fine for this project. Alternately you can search craft stores for small decorative jars that are much more attractive. They are the best option if you plan on giving your homemade perfume as a gift.

To make homemade perfume in a jar you'll need 4 ounces of natural beeswax, 6 ounces of shea butter, 8 ounces of olive oil, and 2 ounces of fragrant oil of your choice. You'll also need a double boiler, and if you want your perfume to shimmer and glisten, consider buying very fine glitter.

Begin by melting the beeswax in a double boiler over moderate heat. After the beeswax has melted, stir in the shea butter, and continue stirring until the two are well mixed. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil with the fragrant oil, and stir this mixture into the melted beeswax and shea butter. Stir in a small amount of very fine glitter if desired.

While the mixture is still warm, carefully pour it into small decorative jars, and allow it to continue cooling before covering and storing. This homemade perfume recipe makes approximately 18 ounces of solid fragrance.

Gift Giving Ideas

Homemade perfume in decorative jars makes a wonderful gift for those who appreciate fine fragrances. Consider making an attractive gift basket including several decorative jars containing various scents. Label each jar with a custom-made peel and stick label, and include your own special sentiments. Line the gift basket with shredded colored tissue paper, and place the jars inside. Surround the basket with clear cellophane, and tie the top with colorful paper twist or ribbons of your choice. Anyone who loves fragrances will be delighted to receive this very special and exceptionally impressive homemade gift.

If you happen to know fashion, then you also know the news that fashion designer Patrick Robinson has created a summer clothing collection for Target is definitely something to be excited about.

Patrick Robinson is a California-born fashion designer who graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York. He has worked in the high fashion industry with the likes of Anne Klein and Giorgio Armani. The latest project in his up-and-coming career has been to design a summer line of clothing for Target that debuted in May 2007.

The collection focuses on versatility-pieces that you can mix and match, and wear for a variety of different occasions. The designs, prints, and fabrics are inspired by one of the more romantic, exotic and alluring destinations in the world-Greece. Imagine sun drenched fields of olive trees, Mediterranean villages, ancient Grecian ruins, azure seas and white sand beaches, and you won't wonder why Robinson chose this country as his source of inspiration for his new summer line of clothing for Target. The collection features antique prints, light materials like cotton gauze, linen, and a refreshing mix of modern and vintage pieces that pair beautifully together to create striking ensembles.

The Grecian inspired designs are most evident in elegantly draped dresses such as Robinson's Crisscross Strap Knit Dress. It very clearly evokes the elegant and characteristic lines found in ancient statues of the Greek goddesses. The rich purple hue called Roseville adds to the regality of this comfortable summertime dress, and I'm willing to bet it looks divine with a good tan.

Two of my favorite prints that are featured in various items of the collection are the bohemian-looking medallion print and the more subtle rosette print. You can find dresses, skirts, and tops in different versions of these elegant, old-world prints. One worth checking out is the crisp blue-and-white print Knotty Strap Knit dress.

Another very versatile piece is the Printed Reversible Tank rosette and russet beige. The tank can be worn to show off either the solid side or the rosette print side, in addition to being able to wear it with the straps crossed in front to create a striking halter look that will really show off your tanned summer shoulders. For chillier weather or an evening outdoors, you can cover up with the collection's fresh-looking Linen Jacked in Buckwheat.

In all, this is a refreshing, stylish and joyfully affordable collection. Target did well to collaborate with such a creative and intuitive fashion designer. You can check out the entire collection at www.target.com.

How many times have you waited in the supermarket line and glanced over at the magazine rack. If so, there is a good chance that you have seen a fashion magazine or two. Fashion magazines, which include Vogue, Allure, and Glamour, are magazines which offer advice and up-to-date tips on fashion. While the information found inside these magazines is up-to-date, trendy, and interesting, some magazines cost around three or four dollars each. This may not seem like a large amount of money at the time, but it can add up.

What many readers do not know is that virtually the same type of information found in many popular fashion magazines can be found online. If you would like to read up on trendy fashions for the home, workplace, or a night out on the town, you are advised to check the internet first. As previously mentioned, the same type of information can often be found online. Your first stop should be the online website of your favorite fashion magazine. For example, Glamour's online website can be found at www.glamour.com. Many fashion magazines have websites that are filled with valuable information, including sample articles from current issues.

You may also want to think about performing a standard internet search. Search with words or phrases concerning the topics or issues that you are looking to read about. For example, if you are looking for the hottest trends in work clothing, perform a standard internet search using the phrases "workplace fashions," "trendy work clothing," and so on. Your searches will likely return articles, pictures, or slideshows, outlining what is hot or what is not in workplace fashion.

It is also advised that you join an online community that discusses fashion or at least visit one, not all require you to become a member. For example iVillage, which can be found at www.ivillage.com, has a beauty and style section. This section expands to include information on fashion, celebrity styles, hair, makeup, skin, and body. They even have an online message board where you can visit, meet other internet users, and discuss fashion. If you would like to participate in online iVillage fashion discussions, you need to become a member, but it is free to do so. This is a lot cheaper than buying a weekly or monthly fashion magazine.

Although it is easy to say that you shouldn't waste money on a fashion magazine, or another magazine for that matter, it is easier said than done. There is just something about buying a magazine and curling up into a corner to read it. If you would still like to purchase fashion magazines to read, it is your decision, but you should at least try and save money while doing so. Many fashion magazines have subscription inserts where you can save money by buying a year subscription. The same deals, sometimes even better deals, are offered online. Check the online website of your favorite fashion magazine to see if you can save money today.

So you've finally decided to join the counter-culture and get yourself a wicked-looking tat on the likes of Angelina Jolie, Justin Timberlake, Sean Connery, or Michael Jordon? Read on!

Some years back, the magic of signature henna treatments along with seductive body marking /body piercing used to be adored by brides at celebrity weddings in India. However, of late, the elite/upmarket males and females in the west are getting branded by tattoos/scarifications/body piercing on each and every part of their bodies, from the face to the genitalia. Such practices, which today are the latest fashion fads of the gen-Y, were an integral part of a deeply symbolic, centuries-old tradition around the world among tribal communities. Interest in tattooing and body piercing has surged during the past ten years, spawning a new aesthetic of personal appearance for umpteen young people.

Blame it on the movies, the showbiz world, the photographic shoots, or the global fashion/ramp shows, body marking with tattoos are “in”. Indeed, a lot of it has already been featured in the media. Everybody seems to be talking about how celebrity henna/tattooing/body piercing artists are touring the globe and making their marks in the movies and popular culture and how they are creating stunning body tattoo designs with a unique smoothness and texture to adorn human skins.

Starting from skulls and crossbones to more effeminate dolphins and intricate geometrical patterns, men are getting all at upmarket tattoo parlors as well as at expensive sessions with celebrity tattoo artists in India and abroad. Gone are the days when body marking with tattoos was considered a pseudo-art for freaks and soldiers. In recent years tattooing has emerged to the forefront of popular consciousness. Today a tattoo ‘flash’ is a folder of tattoo-artwork by tattoo artists, with styles ranging from the traditional and vernacular to the sacred and innovative.

In the orient, this explosion of body art may not have reached such heights of craze like in the west, where it has been found to be an ever-growing obsession with kids and teens, fashion-freak males and even baby boomers. (Researches have revealed that in three percent of American households today, at least one of their members has one or more tattoos, which means at least twelve million Americans have one tattoo). Nevertheless, body markings with Disney, Spiderman, Princess, Celtic Arm bands, Mascots and more have been common practices among teenager guys, college-goers as well as with the fashion-conscious “metro-man” aspiring for a cult stature among peers and pals.

In the ancient, Celtic times, Polynesian culture, tattooing used to signify one's ancestors, family, or something else equally as personal. On the hand, today’s tattoo artists reflect the depth and potential of body marking, keeping in tandem with contemporary imagination. While in the pre-historic times, Neolithic times and so on, body marking with tattoos was considered only among the royals to signify vigor and virility, today’s tattoo artists can create the stunning magic of tattooing on anyone by injecting specially created color pigments into the skin. For this, they use a solid, round-tip needle attached to a motorized instrument that holds up to 14 needles attached to the pigments.

Ignoring the potential complications of such body marking (starting from gangrene, syphilis and hepatitis B to HIV), men in increasing numbers are flocking to amateur artists, do-it-yourselfers, and informal tattooers, (known as "scratchers") to have their arms, backs, chests or legs tattooed. However, while you gravitate towards body marking with tattoos, body piercing and scarifications, considering these hip and cool, make sure to have these done by professionals who follow health and safety guidelines that prevent the spread of these diseases. Professional tattoo artists charge more because they use electrically powered, vertical, vibrating instruments to inject the tattoo pigment, while maintaining safety and sterility precautions. So, whether you are serious about the resurrection of such ritualistic body marking that spans a broad spectrum of our history, or you just want to do it for the heck of it, the bottom line is: Do it safely!

I was on the fence when this fashion line initially debuted, because I didn't care much for the lower end fashions. It appeared that Gwen was following down the same path as other entertainers turned designers such as J. Lo and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen had gone in marketing their fashion designs. Their designs seem destined to stay in the lower end department stores such as Marshall, TJ Maxx and Target. However, when Gwen Stefani began offering a more polished or couture line of clothing, handbags and accessories, the world stood up and took notice.

Those of you who don't know what L.A.M.B is let e give you a brief history on the designer who inspired the fashion line, Ms. Gwen Stefani:

Born Gwen Renee Stefani on 10/3/1969 in Fullerton, California, she first came on the scene as the front woman for band, No Doubt, who her brother Eric formed in 1986. Prior to joining No Doubt she worked at the local Diary Queen. Talk about your rages to riches story!

In 1996 Gwen met and began dating Gavin Rosedale and on September 14, 2002 the two musicians tied the knot. Gwen then launched her solo career in 2004 and her 1st solo single, "What you waiting for?" debuted at number one on the Australian singles chart. In 2005, her release of "Hollaback girl" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 list just 6 weeks after it was released therefore cementing her status as recording superstar!

Gwen's certified platinum, double and multi platinum projects include, "What you waiting for, Rich girl and Hollaback girl. Gwen increased her star power by launching her own fashion line in 2004 and a L.A.M.B was born.

L.A.M.B stands for Love, Angel, Music, Baby, I suppose that defines her life as her love for her family, the fact that she has the face of an angel, her solid position in the music world and the birth of her baby Kingston. That's the L.A.M.B. interpretation based on the Gospel of Karen.

Although I love her clothing line, I would have to admit that I simply adore her handbags and accessories the most. The styles are upscale and fashionable, but still very practical. I love the quality of the materials used to construct the items and the price can't be beat for high end designer fashion.

Gwen's signature icon on her L.A.M.B. designs is none other thing the shape of a sweet little lamb. The symbol of the lamb means something completely different to me and holds a special place in my heart. New and future mommies will absolutely fall in love with the L.A.M.B. infant wear and the toddler shoes are must haves for the playground this spring and summer season.

You can shop for L.A.M.B. fashion and accessories online or at high end stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom's and many others. Gwen Stefani has managed to really have it all! She's successfully juggled a family, a career and fashion line. Congratulations Gwen and keep the fashion's coming!
